African Wildlife Foundation

African Wildlife Foundation is a wonderful organization and another great resource to learn about this vast country, with special focus on the Wildlife.

You will find pages about different areas of The African Heartland, which includes the Four Corners, the wilderness area around Victoria Falls, Kilimanjaro with its Elephant’s and highest peak in Africa, Limpopo and its Rhino’s, the Maasai Steppe, Samburu, Viriunga and mountain Gorillas and also the mighty river Zambezi in S. Africa.

A large portion is about their conservation efforts in Africa, especially for Elephants, Gorillas and Rhinos, to name a few. They continuously update their site on the latest developments and projects.

Their mission is to work together with the people of Africa to help ensure that the wildlife and wild lands of Africa will endure forever.

Check out their success stories; it all sounds wonderful. Personally I’m especially intrigued with the Koija Starbeds project and have put it on my list of places that need to be discovered. ;)

The information you’ll get here is fantastic and it certainly gives you a closer look, especially into the Wildlife of Africa.
